NAME: Rebecca Irwin
NOW LIVES: Sydney
Rebecca migrated to Australia 20 years ago. She is now a cellist with the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra, working at one of the best known buildings in the world – the Sydney Opera House. She says art is not as important to Australians, sport is more important, but she stays because of the people. “You work so you can enjoy life”.
Rebecca is married and has two sons. She enjoys the freedom of the Australian way of life, but thinks Aussies should work a bit harder! Rebecca spends her free time with family and friends, and enjoys the spectacular parks around glittering Sydney Harbour, but even after all this time says she still can’t understand cricket. “Aussies love the outdoors and always want to be outside”.
