In this episode of Pacific Pulse, Tania Nugent is at the Tupira Surf Club in Madang province on Papua New Guinea's north coast where surfing safaris are creating new business in tourism for traditional landowners as an alternative to logging or destroying other natural resources. Now the visitors are also investing in local communities, starting a scheme where Australian surfers donate their spare surf boards, as well as life saving and medical equipment, to ship to PNG so locals can also enjoy this growing sport.
