Chinese authorities execute man convicted of killing six 26/11/2008

A Chinese man, 28, convicted of killing six police officers has been executed in Shanghai.

State media reports say the killings occurred at a Shanghai police station.

All six were knifed to death.

Correspondents say the case drew rare public criticism of the country's police force.

Local media had said the man was bitter over his ill-treatment last year at the same police station, where he was interrogated on suspicion of stealing a bicycle.
