Fiji blocks entry of bar association officials 26/11/2008

The International Bar Association says the Fijian government has again banned a delegation of its members from visiting the country.

The delegation which includes senior jurists from Australia was hoping to meet members of Fiji's legal profession next month.

Despite media reports the association would be welcome, it has received a letter from Fiji's Attorney-General saying that is not the case.

A similar delegation was prevented from entering the country in February.
