Earth tremor in Australia's north 16/10/2008

Geosciences Australia says an earth tremor has been felt in the Northern Territory capital of Darwin and surrounding regions.

It says the magnitude 4.8 earthquake occurred at a depth of 200 kilometres in the Banda Sea, north of Australia.

There was no threat of a tsunami.
