Australian police to identify Nepal dead 12/10/2008
08:12:35

Five forensic specialists from the Australian Federal police left for Nepal last night, to identify and recover the bodies of an Australian couple killed in a light plane crash.

31-year-old Andrew McLeod Frick and 24-year-old Charlene Zamudio died, along with 16 other passengers, when their plane crashed while attempting to land at an airport near Mount Everest last Wednesday.

AFP officers have obtained DNA samples and dental records from family members to assist with the identification.

The specialists will be working alongside a German forensic team, sent to recover 12 German citizens who also perished.
