19:55:50

Six international race horses have arrived in Melbourne to prepare for next month's Melbourne Cup.

They include Irish trainer Aidan O'Brien's "Septimus", and Dermot Weld's "Profound Beauty".

Racing Victoria's spokesman Leigh Jordan says there were concerns last year's equine influenza outbreak might put people off.

He says its just fantastic that now some eight horses are coming out to possibly run in the Melbourne Cup.
