Sixteen dead in northwest Pakistan bombing 06/09/2008
20:41:59

Police in Pakistan's northwestern city of Peshawar say at least 16 people have died and another 80 wounded when a bomb laden car exploded outside a security checkpost and destroyed a nearby market.

No one has claimed responsibility but al Qaeda-linked militants have set off numerous bombs in Pakistan over the past year, many of them in the northwest and aimed at security forces.
