09:06:41

Pakistan says it will retaliate if American soldiers based in Afghanistan attempt another raid on Pakistani soil.

Michael Coggan reports from Islamabad Pakistani officials say a pre-dawn cross border raid on Wednesday by American troops left up to 20 civilians dead.

Army spokesman Major General Athar Abbas says if it happens again Pakistan has the right to defend it's territorial integrity.

The raid has strained Pakistan's alliance with the U-S, but Asif Ali Zardari ,the man expected to be elected today as the new President of Pakistan has vowed to help defeat militants in Pakistan.
