US Secretary of State in NZ for talks 25/07/2008
22:11:37

US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has arrived in Auckland, ahead of talks with New Zealand Prime Minister Helen Clark and Foreign Minister Winston Peters.

She made no remarks to reporters on the plane carrying her from Australia.

Dr Rice is due to leave New Zealand on Sunday for Samoa, where she will hold talks with foreign ministers from the 16-nation Pacific Islands Forum.

A New Zealand university students' association earlier offered a reward for anyone making a citizens' arrest of Dr Rice as an alleged war criminal, but were warned by police to withdraw the offer.
