Large quake off Japan's northeast coast 19/07/2008

Japan's Meteorological Agency has lifted a tsunami warning it issued for northeastern Japan earlier today after a 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck off the east coast of Honshu.

There were no initial reports of damage from the quake.

The biggest tsunami measured was 20 centimetres along the coasts of Fukushima and Miyagi prefectures.
