Vanuatu celebrates seasonal work scheme 23/05/2008
08:50:28

Vanuatu will today celebrate the first anniversary of the recognised seasonal employer work scheme.

The RSE scheme is giving ni-Vanuatu access to work opportunities in New Zealand's viticulture and horticulture sectors, giving more than 1,600 workers temporary employment in New Zealand in the first year.

While the scheme is only a year old, data is beginning to be collected to understand the economic impact that Vanuatu is experiencing from the remittances flowing from the scheme.
