Pakistan test fires cruise missile 09/05/2008
22:10:10

Pakistan says it has successfully test fired a nuclear-capable cruise missile.

The defence ministry says air-launched Hatf-VIII was developed locally, and has a range of 350 kiliometres.

On Wednesday, neighbouring India tested a nuclear-capable missile with a range of more than 3,000 kilometres.

Both countries routinely test missiles despite a peace process launched in 2004 that has led to better relations between the South Asian rivals.
