Solomon Star editor appointed to ACP media post 02/02/2008
12:32:30

The Pacific Islands News association has congratulated the editor of Solomon Star, Robert Iroga, on his appointment as media liaison officer for the Africa, Caribbean and Pacific Secretariat -- or ACP -- in Brussels.

President Joseph Ealedona says the appointment is a milestone for Pacific Island journalists, especially the younger generation striving to reach higher grounds in their profession.

Mr Ealedona says PINA is proud of the appointment and is looking forward to working closely with him to see how PINA and its members can benefit from ACP-EU assistance, particularly in view of negotiations on new regional trade arrangments.
