There have been angry outbursts in Australian Parliament as the Opposition leader, Malcolm Turnbull, accused the prime minister of leaking a converstion with the US President. Our reporter Louise Yaxley reports Mr Turnbull says Mr Rudd has been given opportunities to deny that he leaked the details of the call to a newspaper, but he hasn't taken them. The Opposition leader, says other leaders will be wary of speaking to Mr Rudd because of the danger the words will be reported. "The PM has trashed our reputation." But the foreign affairs spokesman, Stephen Smith, rejects that. "It's not a problem for the Australian government's dealing with the current Bush administration and its certainly not a problem for dealing with the new Obama-elect administration. " Mr Turnbull moved a censure motion which was defeated on party lines. Several MPs were ejected from the Parliament during the rowdy debate. Produced by Radio Australia and Australia Network |
