Chinese President Hu Jintao has told the US President elect Barack Obama that Beijing and Washington should accommodate each other's concerns. The two leaders spoke Saturday, with the Chinese President calling for cooperation on issues such as the current global financial turmoil but also urging US respect for China's position on touchy issues such as Taiwan. Xinhua news agency reports the conversation is thought to be the pair's first since Barack Obama's election victory. Produced by Radio Australia and Australia Network |
