A New Zealand man who is the caddy for golfing champion Tiger Woods has given $NZ 1,000,000 ($US 630,000) to an Auckland Children's hospital. Our New Zealand reorter Kerri Ritchie reports Wellington-born Steve Williams has been the caddy for Tiger Woods since 1999. He's handed over a cheque to the Starship Children's Hospital in Auckland. The money will be used to build a new cancer ward. Mr Williams says he made the decision to donate after spending a day at the hospital last year. "It tore me up actually it was a day I'll never forget it was probably the most meaningful day of my life." The hospital treats about seventy per cent of New Zealand children with cancer.
