The Thai prime minister has threatened to have protestors arrested for using racially divisive slogans.
Sondhi Limthongkul, from the People's Alliance for Democracy, campaigned Monday night in a T-shirt calling on ethnic Chinese Thais to join the protests. Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej has accused Sondhi of wearing the T-shirt to incite racial divisions. Thousands of protesters have been attending daily rallies for the past two months, demanding the government step down. The PAD is a group of royalists, businessmen and activists who accuse Mr Samak of acting as a proxy for former premier Thakin Shinawatra. Mr Thaksin was deposed in 2007 and now faces numerous corruption charges. Produced by Radio Australia and Australia Network |
