USA
In Depth

The United States has announced a resumption of food aid to North Korea.

A statement from the U.S. Agency for International Development says 500 thousand tonnes in food aid will be provided over a 12-month period.

Washington says it's now satisfied that the aid will be distributed to those in need, rather than siphoned off by North Korean elites.

Pyongyang this week handed American negotiators documents detailing its past nuclear activities.
