A fourth former Khmer Rouge soldier has been arrested and charged for his role in the 1996 kidnapping and killing of the British mine clearer Christopher Howes.
A court official in Phnom Penh says Sin Dorn has been charged with premeditated murder, over the deaths of Mr Howes and his Cambodian translator. Sin Dorn has also been charged with illegally imprisoning the two men, and of belonging to rebel forces. The former soldier was arrested last week in Anlong Veng, the Khmer Rouge's final stronghold. Last November three other former communist soldiers were arrested and charged with the same offences. All four face life in prison if convicted. A trial date has yet to be set.
