East Timor's ruling Fretilin Party has gone on the defensive, rejecting outright allegations of voter intimidation in Monday's presidential poll. Fretilin has been accused of harrassing voters to support its candidate Francisco "Lu Olo" Guterres. East Timor will now have an anxious wait for an outcome and hope the situation remains calm. But there are fears any early claim of victory will raise the potential for violence.
