Sujatha, a student from India, travels into the country to stay with an Australian family whose life revolves around their farm. She gets to know them, and learns about country life.
She has a go at herding sheep, driving a ute in a paddock, and working with a sheep dog. She helps out with the cooking and finds out how to make a pavlova dessert.
Along the way she helps the 17 year-old daughter and her friends dress up for her graduation ball. Finally, Sujatha gets a chance to test her skills at shearing a sheep.
