Astari, a recent Indonesian arrival to Australia, spends a week with the Blackwood Players, one of Australia's oldest amateur theatre groups. They are in rehearsal for 'Lovin' that Cruise', a madcap musical written by Martin, the director.
She meets the very large cast, works hard at bump-in day, practises her lines, helps with costumes, sells programs, and finally gets her moment in the spotlight on opening night.
