Q: What is Australia Network?
Australia Network is an Australian based international television
service broadcasting to 30 countries throughout the Asia Pacific
region. Drawing on the resources of the Australia Broadcasting
Corporation and a network of regional reporters, Australia Network
presents a cosmopolitan and comprehensive range of informative

Q: Do I need a Smart Card to watch your
service?
A: From 2006 Australia Network will be broadcasting certain
programs such as our International Rugby Union coverage via
an encrypted signal. If you are receiving us off IS-8 via your
own satellite equipment (including hotels and SMATV viewers)
you will need to obtain one of our free Smart Cards to watch
these games.
If you are receiving us via IS-2 you will need to check you
have the correct decoder and then register it. Once registered
your decoder will be able to access our encrypted programs.

Q: How do I find out what's on Australia
Network where I live?
You are able to watch Australia Network's television service
throughout most of Asia and the Pacific region. When you first
come to our website the default TV schedule is set to Hong Kong.
You can change this to your nearest location by clicking on the
"set TV schedule" button 
and following the steps that appear in the pop up window. The
set TV schedule button can be found on any page that contains
TV schedule information.

Q: Can I print your TV schedule?
A: Yes, you can either choose to print today's schedule or the schedule for the next 7 days.
On each schedule page you will see a "print TV schedule" button.  If you click this button a pop-up window will open giving you a choice of schedules. You can select to print today's schedule or the next 7 day's schedule for each of the locations listed.

what should I do?
A: There are a number of reasons why you might be experiencing

picture problems when I watch Australia Network's television service.
I have been receiving the service for a while and up til now there
were no problems, what should I do?
A: The problems you are experiencing could be due to a number
of factors. The most frequently asked questions about receiving

required seek advice from your local equipment and/or service
provider.

Q: How do I email pages from your site?
A: The footer on all pages includes a button

Q: I want some more information about
a program I saw on your channel recently, can you help?
A: Each program presented by Australia Network has its own
program page. You can access these pages either through our "programs
A - Z", "program genre", or "TV Schedule" pages under the "Television"
menu.
A number of the programs we broadcast have their own websites,
the address can be found on the program's page if available.

Q: I'm living or travelling in the region
and would like to watch Australia Network television, how can I
access your service?
A: Information about how and where you can access Australia
Network's television service is available under our "Tuning In"
menu. On our How to Watch
page you can select your area and the options for receiving the
service will be listed. Australia Network is transmitted free
of charge via satellite. You can find satellite reception details
also on our How to Watch
page. If you are travelling in the region you can watch Australia
Network at many of the region's hotels. Please check when making
travel arrangements that your hotel provides Australia Network
as part of its in-house TV system.

Q: Can I get transcripts or tapes of your
programs?
A: Australia Network offers selected transcripts for Asia
Pacific Focus, Nexus
and the english language learning programs found in the Learn
English section. Links to other programs offering transcripts
are available from individual program pages in our television
shedule.
Australia Network broadcasts a number of programs produced
by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC). The ABC offers
video and audio tape sales of programs. More information can

Q: How do I find out about advertising
on Australia Network's television service?
A: Australia Network is a commercial service. Australia Network
offers advertisers a powerful means of reaching the educated,
affluent and mobile market in the region. Television and online
advertising enquiries can be made using the email
form in our contact us section.

Q: I'm having trouble viewing this site
it takes too long to download pages. What can I do?
A: Australia Network offers both high graphics and low graphics
versions of its website.
You will automatically see the low graphics version if you
have JavaScript disabled. You can also choose this option by
clicking on the low graphics version button at the bottom of
each page, if you have JavaScript turned on, but want our pages
to download faster.
You can find out more about the use of JavaScript and how
to change your browser settings from the Microsoft and Netscape
websites.
The low graphics version also includes scalable fonts. People
with a visual impairment are able to increase the size of fonts
on the page to assist legibility. To do this go to the view
menu at the very top of your browser, select text size and choose
the text size you prefer.
Most users will be automatically directed to the graphics
rich or high-end version of the site. The high-end site is optimised
for Internet Explorer and Netscape web browsing software, versions
5 and above. The site is best viewed at screen resolutions of
800 X 600 pixels or higher. The high-end site will be fully
functional with all versions of Windows and Macintosh operating
system software if JavaScript is enabled.
Both versions of the site use cookies. The cookies track your
preferences so that when you use our television section your
preferred schedules, viewing days and programs are easily accessible.
The cookies used by Australia Network Online do not collect personal
information.

A: The home page of Australia Network's website includes a
link to Radio Australia's website as well as a link to the home

Q: How do I play the video content available
on your site?
A: Our video content is available in two versions, Windows
Media and Real Player, and to play it you need to download either
a Windows Media or Real Player.

Real Player - there is a free version of the Real Player is available for download here.

Please Note the link for the free version is in the top right
hand corner of the page. The 14-day trial version of the Real

Real Player Version 8 which is also a free download.
