This week's Talking Head, soprano Marina Prior, tells Peter Thompson, "From the moment I could speak I sang." Marina's superb soprano voice has won her some of musical theatre's most coveted romantic heroine roles. Her parents were members of the local Gilbert & Sullivan Society of Port Moresby and she grew up with the sounds of music and singing saying, "It was just a natural existence as to who I was." In 1983 Marina auditioned for the chorus of Pirates of Penzance and fortuitously was given the lead role. She found this first experience on stage at the Princess Theatre to be emotionally romantic describing it as the most beautiful, sacred place.
