Do you like the weather?

When you’re learning English, it’s important to be able to answer the common, everyday questions that people ask you. Today we’re asking people another very common question: Do you like the weather?

What do you think of the weather today?

KEIRAN: It's a pretty nice day today. Very nice.

You're enjoying the weather?

KEIRAN: Yes, I am.

And what do you think of the weather today?

APRIL: It's cool. It's good. It's warm but it's not like heaps sunny and it's not raining.

And what do you think of the weather today?

NICK: It's a bit rainy, a bit cloudy but it's all right.

JADYNNE: The weather today is all right, a bit too cold for my liking but it's okay. It's still a bit sunny so it's not too bad. I'd say it's a little bit cloudy. It's a bit windy but not too bad and the sun's coming through every so often

MICHAEL: Today's weather started off really bad because it was cold and raining and I had to walk here but it's now quite nice.

SUSAN: I think the weather today is lovely. I like autumn. Autumn in Adelaide is very nice. It's nice and crisp and there's lots of leaves on the ground, lots of colours off the trees, it's nice.

cool
Cool means cold, but not too cold.

However here, April doesn't mean that the weather is cool, she means that the weather is good, and she likes it.

As a slang word, cool also means great, or really good.

warm
hot but not too hot

heaps
Heaps is a slang word. It means a lot or very.
He's heaps good-looking.

raining
Raining is the -ing form, the continuous tense, of the verb 'to rain'.

'It's raining' means that right now, there is rain

It's not raining' means there is no rain right at that moment.

rainy
The adjective from the verb 'to rain' is rainy.

It describes the type of weather.
I don't like rainy days.

Adding a y to weather nouns is a common way of turning them into adjectives to describe the day’s weather.
It’s stormy.
It's sunny.
It's windy.
It’s cloudy.

all right
All right, okay and not too bad all mean the same. They mean that something is average or satisfactory.

Notice that all right can also be written alright.
