About Asialink
Asialink, based at the University of Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Asia Centre, is Australia’s leading centre for the promotion of public understanding of Asia and Australia’s role in the region.

Asialink’s Arts Residency Program offers residencies in Asia in the areas of Visual Arts and Crafts, Performing Arts, Arts Management and Literature. The aim is to promote cultural understanding, information exchange and artistic endeavour between Australia and Asian countries. It enables Australian artists to develop their talents and experience, establish personal contacts and develop partnerships with artists and arts organisations in the region.

Creative Journeys is an initiative of the Australian International Cultural Council (AICC), supported by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in cooperation with Asialink and Australia Network.

Three short films were produced by Australia Network, following the creative journeys of three artists who received Asialink arts residencies to further their work in Indonesia, Malaysia and China. Their journeys are further explored in this website.

Each film is the story of a personal life journey, a transformation in the artistic life of the subject. These stories will be broadcast into the region by Australia Network.
